Recap Friday (Week of 9/30)

The first days of Fall in San Diego are the best. They tell us Starbuck's is now serving pumpkin loaves, Halloween is around the corner, and Andrew Lincoln is back in season 4 of The Walking Dead!

While we were sipping on some pumpkin spice lattes and getting all giddy about zombies, a lot of exciting things happened over the course of the week. In case you missed it, here's what happened...

THIS WEEK...

Horror legend George Romero is expected to take Marvel to a whole new level with "Empire of the Dead," a series that's to debut in January. More deets are expected to be released at NYCC! - B. Dragos

Fans freaked when they got a chance to see some of the [leaked] footage for "Godzilla," originally revealed at the SDCC panel this year. - L. Sultana

TV Line got us all excited for the next season of Community as they announced that Nathan Fillion will make an appearance at Glendale! - D. Berry

Elizabeth Olsen was confirmed to play the role of Scarlet Witch in "Avengers: Age of Ultron." - C. Livingston

To top it off, Aaron Johnson has been cast as Quicksilver. \And in all honesty, all I can think about is "god, he's going to kick so much a**." - D. Berry

In other news, Fox announced that they've picked up yet another season of The Simpsons (that's season 26, if you're keeping count)! "Woo hoo!" - D. Berry

They're also killing off a character this season... *sad face.* - D. Berry

And if you're planning to tune in for this year's episode of "Treehouse of Horror," (airing on The Simpsons this upcoming Sunday), you'll get to see the couch gag that was created by Guillermo del Toro! - D. Berry

Fox also announced that Sleepy Hollow has been renewed for a second season (which almost makes up for the crime of canceling Terminator: Sarah Connor... but I digress). - C. Livingston

Via When Nerds Attack: Fans of The Walking Dead comics will have a chance to meet artist Charlie Adlard at NYCC! They'll also get a chance to check out the WD art gallery while they're there! - B. Woodin

Earlier this week, Funko released a photo of this Batmobile Pop! figurine (available at NYCC next weekend), making me even more jealous that I won't be able to get my hands on one. - S. Tat

A recent press release tells us that Funko's also got "Back to the Future" and "Jay and Silent Bob" figurines in their merch line-up this fall. Iit seems that Funko's really doing it big this year. - D. Berry

And Tophr gave us the heads up on another adorable NYCC exclusive! Pimp2-D2 will be available at booth #208 and he's expected to sell out pretty fast!
